Colora Font, 2010
Digital Painting

A serious start a digital painting started with yard sale in the early summer of 2010. I was sitting out trying to sell old stuff which I really dislike. To make the time a little more bearable, I grabbed the power cord off of the old tv and plugged my laptop in, and with my tablet I started painting.

Tree Shadows, 2012
Digital Drawing

As the students were drawing outside during class, I came across this interesting display of shadows. I was taken by the way they natural shapes crossed over the concrete. I drew this in black on white to give the look of soft pencil on paper.

It was a Friday at the end of class when I walked outside to wait for my dad who was using my truck. I sat on the bench and noticed the leaves laying on the concrete. I took out the laptop and tablet and drew for 2 hours while waiting for my dad, I was pleased he was later than expected!

Waking to the morning, how time goes away so quick! It is the mornings i can lay in bed with my laptop and capture the colors created by the morning sun through the window.

The summer schedule gives way to some drawing time. I set my apple on my desk preparing to cut it when I noticed the colors, reds and purples. Turns out I had to eat it a little later.

Candy Jar, 2011
Digital Illustration
20 x 16

Before the Winter break, the admin assistant brought in this candy jar. I really liked the way the plastic wrapped candy sat in the colorful jar. I told her that I was going to draw it. When I came in after the break, I notice the candy was half gone and thought it is now or never!

Happy New Year! I woke from my resolution that this would be the last New Year's spent having an ultra night and was captured by the metallic blue contrasted by the black plastic. I could drink this hot while drawing.

Another Ultra Night, 2010

New Years Eve, I laid in my bed wondering if I should go out and spend time with people. It was a tough time and I decided to stay in alone, great New Years, right. I made my resolution that this would be the final New Year's Eve that I spent by myself, drinking and drawing.

Every now and then just laying in bed and chatting on the computer is nice. Since most of my friends were with family during the holidays, i took advantage of this time to do some digital painting. I thought it would be nice to drink and draw. It is amazing how warm beer gets sitting in your hand while drawing.

Even in the Daylight, 2010
Digital Painting
16 x 16

2010 began a time of transformation. A close friend and I were both going through some very similar things. Change is good, but change can be hard. I vowed to my friend that I would always be with her with support, kindness, compassion, and love. For this, I created this painting to remind her that the candle burns even in the daylight.

Awaking, 2010

I woke up this particular morning staring into the bathroom and taking a liking the warm brick red colors. The skylight was making the room very bright in comparison to the dark bedroom.

Warming Glow, 2010
Digital Painting

I decided to sit on the couch to watch a movie. Since it was cold in the basement, I turned on the kerosene heater to take the chill out of the air. For a bit I was chatting on the laptop when the warm glow caught my attention.

Snow Day, 2010

Nothing like waking up and getting the news that "schools are closed". Shoveling 2 feet of snow did seem like a bad trade-off. So I stayed in bed enjoying the white light glowing from the small window.

Shadows of Time, 2010

I was illustrating a landscape, just for the sake fo creating texture and shadows. The past crept up on my thoughts as I remembered my first true love.
